HighPoint RocketU1022A / RocketU Dual USB 3.0 for Mac The RocketU1022A/RocketU Dual USB 3.0 for Mac is an external, 2‐port Super‐Speed USB 3.0 PCI‐Express 2.0 x1 HBA. ESATA may have been a safer buy (mature tech) but the convenience of USB is hard to beat, so I took the risk. HighPoint's 4-port card is excessive for my needs (backup), so I went with the simpler, cheaper 2-port model. This product is not affordable by Mac standards, and with the RAID support, makes it a better deal than most of the other USB cards out there right now. Not disappointed (so far so good). When I plug this into the standard USB 2.0 port it mounts just fine. Also the drive shows up in Disk Utility but not at a level where you can access it OR eject it. It simply shows up as an un-formated disc. The bigger mystery for me is that it did work once on Lion for about 10 minutes. Website builder for mac. I decided to upgrade to ML and try the CalDigital drivers as others have had luck with them on the 4 port card. So after uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers half a dozen times with the same results I'm shipping this back. So thanks HighPoint for giving us the opportunity to feel like a PC user.
